We purchased one of the AJ Sports treasure chests at a Vancouver Canucks game Dec 23rd for $500. It was opened at Christmas. Imagine our shock and disappointment that AJ sports included an item from a former player, who had been criminally charged. The item was returned to the Canuck Auction staff Dec 28th. While both the Canucks and AJ sports offered an apology, neither organization have offered a replacement or assistance. AJ sports customer support stated, “Since your purchase was made directly through the Canucks, I recommend reaching out to their customer service team to discuss your options for a replacement or reimbursement. ” The packaging is clearly labeled by AJ SPORTS TREASURE CHEST. Both organizations claim that they discarded all of this players items. Obviously not. Therefore the value of said item is zero. Therefore it would appear that the chest value is not worth the $500 charged, as only 2 of the 3 items have any value. Please be aware that in our case AJ sports did not honour: ‘Each Chest is guaranteed to contain more than $500 in retail value.’ Also, if one item can ‘inadvertently’ slip through their monitoring system, another may as well.
